Mother’s day food porn!
Sunday, Mother’s Day, my place, 2PM.
Menu:
- Salad of butter lettuce, mandarin oranges and avocado, with homemade vinaigrette of pecans and red wine vinegar
- Prawns in garlic, butter and lemon
- Beef tenderloin sautéed in butter and bacon, finished with balsamic
- Homemade polenta with parmesan, finished in the fond from the tenderloins (I chopped the bacon and folded it in)
Hot sourdough bread with lashings of butter
Dessert:
- Homemade Lindt dark chocolate cake, topped with chocolate whipped cream drizzled with hot dulcé de leché
- Fresh strawberries dipped in sour cream and then golden sugar
Beverages:
- San Pellegrino; hot English tea
Did I mention I’m a morbidly obese woman trapped in a relatively buff body and desperately trying to get out? We went for a little bike ride after the feasting. The one good thing I can say is that I felt like I was riding on ROCKET fuel! Oh, and the moms seemed happy. Hubby sent ‘em home with huge bouquets. Another successful day created by florists. Or was it Hallmark?
