And the HIIT begins …
Heavy quad day today.
I wave loaded fronts as follows:
5×135, 4×145, 3×155
5×145, 4×155, 2×165 <- okay, that last one my form sucked and it was too heavy.
Then 3×7 fronts with a plate a side, followed by 3×8 hyperbench GHRs with a 35-lb plate in my arms.
3×8 alternating bicep curls with 25 a side, then off to do HIIT on the recumbent.
Now, I’m avoiding the treadmill because it seems to irritate something that feels a LOT like piriformis (but my chiro assures me it is not). Also, the recumbant hits my quads more than my hams, so it’s a nice change of pace for my poor wee undercharged quad muscles.
I’m not at all sure what the levels mean, but I did 3 minutes of warmup, followed by 6 minutes of 20:40 sprint:recovery intervals and finished up the 20-minutes at level “5″, whatever that was.
Quads felt like rubber by the time I stood up.
Holy crap, 165# front squats!! You are a beast;)

That is impressive. I can’t believe how strong you are sometimes.

Thanks folks! I felt pretty good out there yesterday, except for that last double. I’ll push it to 160 for a triple next week.
Amazing how light the three sets with 135 felt afterward!

I’d be happy to back squat what you front squat. LOL
How do you do GHRs on a hyper bench?
