First week of May

My foot is healed, and I’m getting set to head into sprint-land. Hell, I may even try to ride my bike again. I couldn’t most of last year with my back injury (grade 1 anterolysthesis of L5-S1, if you’re interested), but it appears to have settled down with my other little injuries, at least to a dull roar, and I’m anxious to drop the lower body fluff with sprints.

I’m convinced that the sprinting is the only thing that will do the trick in this regard. Catecholamines FTW!

I’m going to nudge up my squats tomorrow. I’ve been holding steady with a plate a side for 5×5 fronts, but I think I can start easing that up again and I’m gonna try tomorrow. And I’ll toss a few sprints into my post-workout cardio tomorrow. I have to get on this or I’m not going to lean out for summer.

I managed to hang-clean three triples with 105 last week. If I can get those up to even a single with 115 I’m gonna buy myself a lottery ticket! They felt GREAT!

In other news, and this may prove super helpful, I found a gym a block and a half from work with towel service, a swimming pool and a jacuzzi. $33 a month. Tiny little gym, but it has a power cage - and that, my little friends out there in TV-land, is all that really matters! I’m going to TRY go ease my way into getting there in the AM for some cardio - if I can do the Jacuzzi before I train, it’ll do a lot to limber me up for the sprints. Nice to not have to drive anywhere afterward to go to work!

Dropping my calories a bit this last week - I’m planning a refeed for Friday this week, then hill-repeats on Saturday. Weight this AM holding steady at 135.8. Dammit.
